Chief Patrick Rose: On behalf of our members and myself, thank you for visiting the Woodstock Fire Department website. Here you will be able to learn more about our organization, which dates back well over 100 years.
The Woodstock Fire Department serves the entire Town of Woodstock in Upstate New York. Our district encompasses approximately 68 square miles with over 6,000 residents, and is known for being a very popular tourist destination. Our roots date back to 1906 with the formation of our town’s first fire company, operating solely with a hand pumper. At present, we operate five stations of modern fire apparatus and ambulances. The department responded to over 1,300 emergencies in 2023 alone.
The Woodstock Fire Department is primarily a volunteer organization that not only provides fire protection and prevention, but also provides advanced life support transport EMS services throughout our district. Our department is unique in being one of two departments (the other being mainly career staffed) in Ulster County to provide such a service. This is all made possible through the dedication of our roughly 75 volunteers and 10 employees.
We are always looking for additional people to join our team. If you would like to find out more information about our department, how to join, or career opportunities please email info@woodstockfiredept.org. Don’t forget to check our calendar of events on our website and visit us on social media for the latest happenings of our department.
